What is the importance of religion in our lives? Does it hold any significance and if yes, then what is that significance? How our country and this world will look like if we all eradicate it from within ourselves? Such deep thoughts cross my mind very often. So, I am writing this blog post dwelling into all such questions and deep thoughts.
We have passed almost two decades of this 21st century. And most of us debate on rationality, equality, education, and power on Social Media and various other forums or platforms. But we always forget the most critical issue to be discussed and analysed i.e, RELIGION.
We all have our religion tags given to us at the time of our birth. Most of us always forget to understand logically and rationally the importance of religion. It’s logical significance in a person’s life. What good or bad it brings to that person, again in a logical sense.
How religion has entered our DNA?
With the time and generations passing, we all have developed a self-belief into this system of religion tagging. Unknowingly and without questions most of us are getting swayed away with this and you know why…!!! Because it’s in our DNA now.
A child before coming into existence inside the womb of his mother gets those echoes of mantras and rhymes. It’s a proven fact in medical science that the child inherits major parts of the activity of his mother. The child’s neural network starts developing at very early stages of his formation inside the womb. When this child comes into the world, he goes through various rituals and traditional proceedings. He is made to believe either visually or verbally that to which religion he belongs. He is tagged with the religion his family falls in, because they were also tagged the same way.
I wonder sometimes that from where did these religions arise?? The stories associated with them and all that stuff?? Who was the witness of all of that???? Why there can’t be a single religion which every human being can follow?? Why their protocols or guidance are alike?? How 10 facts about one religion make it
A bunch of few politicians for their political benefits, try to tweak people’s sentiments. People who already under-comprehend this sensitive and critical subject of religion. They get manipulated by these politicians for political benefits. And then a mob of distinct religion clashes to slaughter each other lives. Resulting in loss which includes a
I always ask this question to most of the people who understand this context and its importance that, Is accepting a religion a mandate?? Is passing it on to next generations a mandate?? Is it that critical, a necessity for us, and a basic need?
Why can’t we adopt and pass on the religion of humanity in which there are no idols, no rhymes, no holy books, no mantras, no restrictions and hence no differences? Even if one has understood this complete subject of religion, then what good or great he has brought to people lives, to this country and the world.
Some of the religious speakers and Dharm gurus believe, declare and try to make us believe that study of religions, their scriptures and the knowledge about it enlighten the minds, souls, and provide the right path to one’s life.
Kind & responsible human Being first, Religion second
Now see it my way. Assume for a minute, that a person who is totally unaware of all these religions, scriptures linked with them, associated customs and rituals. But is qualified, educated, highly literate. Experienced the world’s highs and lows as it happens practically with each one of us. Does that sort of a person requires the study of religions to differentiate between right and wrong, good or bad, what can harm and what can benefit him..??
A person without being tagged as a Hindu/ Muslim/Sikh/Christian or giving importance to it at least levels but to other important aspects can lead a better life, can shape his future better, rationally or logically without getting into religious and political propaganda.
My intention is not to hurt anyone’s sentiments but to make them realize or understand that leaving behind these circles of religion, myths and stories associated with them, can make us a better human being who is social, mannered and a helping creature. The idea is not to be atheist but rather to be productive in all key spheres of life keeping religion and its side effects at lower priorities.
EVERYONE’S LIFE START AND END SAME WAY. ALL TAKE BIRTH THE SAME WAY, IN WOMB OF THEIR MOTHER AND ULTIMATELY END UP IN ASHES OR SAND. IF INITIAL POINT OF LIFE’S JOURNEY AND THE DESTINATION ARE SAME, THEN WHY THE PATHS AND THE WAYS TO TRAVEL ARE DIFFERENT????
Why don’t we teach our children that they are born in a family of humans and not of a Hindu/Muslim or any other religion and their social responsibility is to make themselves educated and to educate others so that rationality can grow, equality can groom up, others could be helped and thus can make their country and the world a place for all and not a place of differences, of hatred and of RELIGIONS….!!!!
This whole blog post throws light at the mindset people have, towards religion. Their definition and understanding of religion and what importance do they hold in their minds about it.
“This is my simple religion.
There is no need for temples;
no need for complicated Philosophy.
Our own brain, our own heart
is our temple; the philosophy is kindness.”
– Dalai Lama
